Hot Chocolate Matcha Latte with Almond Milk
A cozy spin on a seasonal favorite, this hot chocolate matcha latte with almond milk combines cocoa powder, matcha powder, maple syrup, & dairy-free milk to make a creamy, decadent holiday treat. It's not only delicious, but it's also healthy too! Top with your favorite hot cocoa toppings- marshmallows, chocolate, and whipped cream- and enjoy!

- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup hot water
- 2 tsp maple syrup or more to taste
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- 1 cup almond milk or any dairy free milk
- OPTIONAL: whipped cream, mini marshmallows, shaved chocolate, and/or cinnamon to serve
In a small mug, combine matcha powder and cocoa powder. Add hot water and use a matcha whisk or a handheld frother to whisk until combined and frothy.
Add maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt, and whisk again to cominbe.
In an electric frother or on the stovetop, heat the milk until it just starts to simmer. Whisk to froth.
Pour over the matcha and cocoa powder mixture.
Serve warm, and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, shaved chocolate, and/or cinnamon, if desired.
Milk Frother: You can use an electric frother, like an Aeroccino, or a handheld milk frother, like this one.

Iced Matcha: If you want to turn this hot chocolate matcha latte into an iced one, simply follow steps 1 and 2. Once combined, pour over a glass filled with ice and fill the rest of the glass with cold almond milk.
