Notes

Expert Tips

  • Skin On: You can peel the potatoes if you want, but I just scrub them really well and then shred them with the skin on.
  • Moisture: Don't forget to squeeze out the moisture from the potatoes to make sure you have crispy hash browns.
  • Frozen Hash Browns: If you are using frozen shredded hash browns, the cooking time is the same. No need to defrost.
  • Additional Seasonings: Feel free to add any other seasoning of your choice, like smoked paprika, garlic powder, and/or onion powder.
  • Equipment: This recipe works in a basket-style air fryer or oven-style. Make sure to line the bottom with aluminum foil or parchment paper if the holes are too big on the tray.

Serving Tips

  • Balanced Meal: Serve alongside your favorite breakfast protein like eggs, sausage, or bacon, and healthy fat like sliced avocado.
  • Fruit: You can even add some berries or slice melon for a serving of fruit with this balanced breakfast.
  • Dipping: If you like a little ketchup with your hash browns, try my super easy homemade ketchup

Storage Tips

  • If you have leftovers, reheat your hash browns in the air fryer for 4-5 minutes at 380 degrees F until warm and crispy.
