Expert Tips
- If using fresh shrimp or frozen shrimp that has not been cooked, heat a large skillet with a little olive oil and cook your raw shrimp before adding it to the dip. Chop into small pieces and make sure it cools at room temperature for a bit before combining with the other ingredients.
- I prefer this creamy dip when served chilled, but if you want, you can serve it as a hot appetizer as well. Just microwave or transfer to an oven-safe baking dish and bake in the oven until heated through.
- I personally love to eat this with paleo crackers or potato chips. You can even top it on some gluten-free toast! Choose your favorite cracker– if you’re not paleo, feel free to use Ritz crackers, tortilla chips, baguette slices, pita chips, and more.
- For Whole30 options, serve this tasty shrimp dip with veggies like carrots, bell peppers, celery, radish, broccoli, and cauliflower.
- If you are keto, serve with celery, bell peppers, jicama, pork rinds, or keto crackers like this one!
- To spice it up, add a dash of hot sauce!
Storage Tips
Store leftover shrimp dip in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the fridge. Gently reheat to serve hot, or serve cold straight from the refrigerator.
You can make this dip a couple days ahead of time, making it the perfect choice for an easy appetizer to have at your next party, game day, holiday parties, or any occasion.
