Combine matcha powder, cocoa powder and hot water. Use a matcha whisk or handheld frother to whisk until combined and frothy.
Add maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt, and whisk again to combine. Heat milk and then pour over the matcha and cocoa mixture.
Serve your chocolate matcha warm, topped with whipped cream, marshmallows, shaved chocolate, and/or cinnamon, if desired.
