I first started making frozen yogurt bark to make a healthy dessert for my toddler that she would enjoy. I love finding yummy ways to add protein to her diet, and yogurt is one of her favorite foods. It was a huge hit in our house, and now, even me and my husband also enjoy them regularly. I also appreciate that it’s so easy to make.

Frozen Yogurt Bark Recipe with Berries

I love that this recipe can be a quick dessert for anytime, but it’s also pretty and festive enough for summer holidays like Memorial Day and 4th of July. Topped with fruits like blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries, it’s the perfect thing to make if you need a red, white, and blue dessert. It’s creamy, crunchy, sweet, and just so wonderful!

Ingredients

This list of frozen yogurt bark ingredients is so simple and versatile. Even kids can help make this recipe!

  • plain yogurt: I like to use plain, whole milk yogurt or Greek yogurt for that thick, rich texture. However, any type of plain yogurt will work. If you want to make a vegan frozen yogurt bark, just use dairy free yogurt!
  • maple syrup: Honey will also work. If you want to make a low carb version, you can even use a sugar free sweetener.
  • vanilla extract
  • berries: I use any combination of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries. I love mixing them up for a colorful look. For this batch, I used blueberries and raspberries.
  • Natural Delights® Mini Medjools: This one is totally optional, but my favorite Medjool Date brand also makes these little blended and flavored treats without any added sugar, and they are gluten free, vegan, and paleo. With simple ingredients, they are delicious and such an easy and healthy snack to have around! They have 3 flavors: cacao pecan, coconut, and sweet and salty almond. I decided to top the yogurt bark with a handful of each, and it turned out amazing! If you can’t find these, you can just top with nuts, chocolate chips, and/or granola for that added crunch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you use fruits other than berries for this frozen yogurt bark?

Yes, you can use any other fruits that freeze well. Some examples are pomegranates, mango, kiwi, and bananas. Make sure to cut the bigger fruits into smaller pieces first. Dried fruits also work extremely well!

Is it safe for babies and toddlers?

Yes, I’ve given it to my toddler many times! The fruits soften and the yogurt melts in your mouth like ice cream so there’s no risk of choking, and it’s a healthy protein-packed treat. However, I wouldn’t add nuts for younger babies.

Can this be made dairy free or vegan?

To make vegan frozen yogurt bark, just use dairy free yogurt. They are easy to find these days and I’ve used both coconut yogurt and cashew yogurt with great success.

How long will leftovers last?

If stored in the freezer in an airtight container, this frozen yogurt bark will last up to 3 months.

These were good but texture wasnโ€™t the best. I know theyโ€™re a frozen treat but theyโ€™re are very ice crystal-ish. I used Silk almond milk yogurt & added some stevia & monk fruit drops to sweeten up a bit more. Congrats on the baby news! We dealt with infertility & miscarriages for years but now have three biological (via IVF) & one adopted child. God is good!
